Re: Is it PMDD or early perimenopause? Seeking advice.
Thanks Lara for your reply :) I'm glad it's unlikely to be perimenopause. Yes, I have listened to the podcast and tried a few things on the list - my experience and a few questions are below. #1 - Antihistamine approach. I tried an antihistamine and it didn't work (I experienced side effects such as...

Is it PMDD or early perimenopause? Seeking advice.
I read Lara's Period Repair manual, and recently I read Lara's Hormone Repair manual. Both books are fantastic!! Page 70 of the Hormone Repair Manual provides the criteria for perimenopause, and it seems I might have 3 criteria - but I'm not sure if it's actually perimenopause. I'm in my early 30's,...

Re: Vitex - effects on period length (personal experience)
I tried vitex again, but this time I started during luteal phase (started during the 1st estrogen drop, a few days after ovulation). Taking the Vitex seems to have caused my period to come sooner (~4 days), and so it seems it caused my luteal phase to be shorter. I'll mention that I am sensitive to ...

Re: Tried B6 for PMS/PMDD, but it caused anxiety. Is this normal?
I did a rechallenge of B6 recently during my follicular phase (usually a calm time for me), and found that my anxiety went through the roof on day 3 of 50mg P5P and on day 4 I had heart palpitations that kept me up all night (+ continued intense anxiety).
I guess B6 (P5P) isn't for me.

PMDD and sensitivity to changes in estrogen
Hi there, After using the Hormonology app, I've noticed my PMDD seems to be linked to a hypersensitivity with changes in estrogen (both rising and dropping). I noticed the blog posts speak more so to progesterone, which is why I'd like to share my perspective wrt estrogen. Below I'll focus on my mos...

Vitex - effects on period length (personal experience)
Hi there, I thought I'd share my experience with vitex in case it is helpful to someone. I tried vitex for 3 consecutive menstrual cycles for PMDD. Not much benefit/changes to mood, BUT it shortened the length of my cycle by 3-4 days ! As soon as I stopped taking it, my cycles went back to their usu...

Copper IUD - bad for the vaginal microbiome
Hi there, This question relates to the The Pros and Cons of the Copper IUD blog post. The post mentions "bad for the vaginal microbiome". I'm looking to understand what this means, and whether it could mean that using the copper IUD could lead to changes in cervical fluid even months after...

Tried B6 for PMS/PMDD, but it caused anxiety. Is this normal?
Hi all, I've had success with magnesium and vitex for mood symptoms during PMS (yay!). After recently re-reading the PMS section in Lara's Period Repair Manual book I noticed that B6 is the 2nd best supplement for PMS, so I decided to give it a go. I purchased 50mg of b6 in the P5P form, the lowest ...
