Re: Perimenopausal symptoms on the pill

As I describe in Hormone Repair Manual, the best plan is usually to come off the pill to see where you're at (i.e. menopause or not) and then decide on t...

Re: Is 200mg nightly (rather than cyclical) progesterone a good approach?
Anywhere from 100 to 300 mg is a pretty standard dose for perimenopause. It doesn't usually cause grogginess, but I often recommend first trying it on a night when you don't have anything important the next morning. As for continuous versus cyclic dosing, it all comes down to the pattern of bleeding...

Re: Endo & leaving the pill
In general, yes. That could be a strategy. Just be aware that taking oral progesterone micronized progesterone increases body temperature, so will influence your FAM or Daysy tracking. In general, what people usually do, is wait until after they've detected the natural temperature rise with ovulatio...

Yes, inositol can be a good choice. A higher dose (eg 3-6 grams) is usually needed for sleep.

Re: Do higher levels of progesterone in the Luteal Phase decrease insulin sensitivity?
There's been some debate about that and conflicting results. I suspect the direct effect of progesterone is that it does slightly decrease insulin sensitivity, but at the same time, progesterone can have an important testosterone-lowering effect (see my cyclic progesterone blog post ). Progesterone ...

Re: Typical duration of post-pill PCOS
So, a temporary post-pill androgen surge can go on for up to a couple of years. But ovulation and regular periods should be established quite quickly. In your case, underactive thyroid could have been a factor in lack of periods, so you should give the thyroid medication a few months to work and the...
