Progesterone Only - Prometrium

I listened to your podcast, episode 11, which mentioned that progesterone combined with estrogen did not cause weight gain and could even cause weight loss. What about progesterone only? My doctor, an endometriosis excision specialist involved in an advance endometriosis study, prescribed norethindrone acetate to manage adenomyosis/endometriosis. I requested prometrium instead. He said he would prescribe it because it would not hurt, but he does not think it will help. What are your thoughts and what kinds of side effects might I notice with this progesterone only prescription? Thank you.
