Can I use a low dose estrogen patch during menstruation to prevent migraines?

Post by Marit »

I am 45 years old. The Dutch Test showed high progesterone and very low estrogen. I use micronized progesteron day 16-28 and estrogen patch or gel day 6-28. Day 1-5 I have to take a brake from the hormones. Estrogen really helps for sleep and migraines, but day 1-5 I am barely functioning, because of migraines and poor sleep. Can I take continous estrogen day 1-28, or would that inhibit my ovulation or be bad for me in any other way? I have asked why I need to take a brake from estrogen, but havent got a good answer. I understand from Lara Briden that it is important to support ovulation, so I dont want to do anything to suppress it. Anyone know?
