Magnesium dosage - there are two mg numbers on bottles?

Post by marissalayn »

I’m looking into magnesium based on what I’ve read from Dr. Briden and Dr. Jolene Brighten, but labels are confusing me. Many labels I’m looking at list a larger mg of magnesium and then list a smaller number next to it. It’s my understanding that the smaller number is elemental magnesium, but which number should I be using to get the correct dosage for myself?

Correct, the smaller number is elemental magnesium which is the number you aim for. So, if you're trying to get the therapeutic dose of 300 mg of magnesium, then that is 300 mg of elemental magnesium.
