There’s a lot going on in the luteal or premenstru There’s a lot going on in the luteal or premenstrual phase of the menstrual cycle, including higher histamine and an increased requirement for sodium. And if you’ve been struggling with hormonal mood symptoms, the solution might be simpler than you think.

In a fascinating article about a potential new gut In a fascinating article about a potential new gut–brain axis, psychobiotic researcher Scott Anderson uses the phrase “squishy electric network” to describe the interstitium, which is a body-wide connective-tissue and fluid network made up of collagen and elastin fibres, hyaluronic-acid-rich gel, interstitial fluid, immune cells, microbes, and more.

Intriguingly, collagen and elastin can have piezoelectric properties, meaning they can generate tiny electrical currents.

The body is a living, responsive, electric network, and we should all be humbled and curious about just how much there is still to learn.

Comment "electric" and I'll DM you a link to the article.

A firehose of advice, warnings, hormone hacks, supplement stacks, lab tests, and protocols.

How are you coping with the information overload? Any tips for staying grounded?

But maybe the real story is that young women run cool. ❄️

That makes more sense to me and fits with how the autonomic nervous system is calibrated differently in young women. Toward relative parasympathetic dominance, better insulin sensitivity, low blood pressure, low blood sugar, and cold hands and feet.

Comment “temperature” and I’ll DM you a link to the New Scientist article, plus my two articles about low blood sugar in young women.
